Bihar Fisheries Director Reviews Kosi-Purnia Fish Producer Committees, Emphasizes Chaur Vikas Yojana Expansion

A review meeting of the fish farmer producer committee of Kosi and Purnia region was held through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Director Fisheries in the Directorate of Fisheries, Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Bihar. The meeting was attended by Deputy Fisheries Director, Kosi and Purnia region and Chief Executive Officer of Fisheries Producer Committee from the state of Bihar.

During the meeting, Director Fisheries reviewed the fish production, hatchery culture and other schemes run by the department in the last financial year from the fish farmer producer committee and inquired about the preparation to achieve the target regarding production and profit of this financial year.

Director Fisheries directed the fish farmer producer committee that they can add value by taking advantage of various state schemes run by the department. Especially, emphasis was given on construction of new ponds under Chaur Vikas Yojana. Apart from this, instructions were given to take advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana run by the Center to increase culture, fish feed production, apply in refrigerated vehicle and advanced fish seed scheme.
