9-member committee led by Chief Secretary to build temple on Ayodhya Ram Mandir model;

On the lines of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the construction of the grand temple of Mata Janaki proposed in Punaura Dham of Sitamarhi is going to start soon. The state government has started the process and has constituted the Shri Janaki Janmabhoomi Punaura Dham Mandir Nyas Samiti. The state government has constituted it using the powers mentioned in subsection (5) of section-32 of the Bihar Hindu Religious Trust Act, 1950. The Chief Secretary of the state has been made the chairman of this committee. While the Development Commissioner has been made the vice-chairman. This 9-member committee has been formed under the leadership of both of them. The Law Department has issued a notification regarding the formation of this committee. Apart from the Chairman and Vice Chairman of this 9 member Trust Committee, the Deputy Development Commissioner of Sitamarhi has been made the Treasurer, the District Officer of Sitamarhi has been made the Secretary and the Mahant of Punauradham Math, Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary or Secretary of Tourism Department, Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary or Secretary of Road Construction Department, Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary or Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department and the Commissioner of Tirhut Division have been made members. The bank account of the Trust Committee will be operated at the level of Secretary and Treasurer. This will be effective with immediate effect.
