Bihar Government Suspends Two Doctors Over Negligent Treatment Leading to Death of Minor Dalit Rape Victim
Deputy Superintendent of PMCH and Superintendent of SKMCH dismissed with immediate effect as opposition parties demand Health Minister Mangal Pandey's resignation;

Taking serious note of dereliction of duties in treatment of a rape victim minor Dalit girl, which led to her death, Bihar government on Tuesday suspended with immediate effect, both in-charge Deputy Superintendent of PMCH Dr Abhijit Singh and Superintendent of SKMCH Dr Kumari Vibha.
Official sources said here that both Dr Abhijit Singh, and Dr Kumari Vibha, had been suspended with immediate effect as they were guilty of detection of their duties in treatment of a minor Dalit girl who was raped in Muzaffarpur on May 26. SKMCH delayed in referring the victim to Patna for treatment while the victim remained unattended in an ambulance in the premises of PMCH, Patna, due to the non-availability of a bed.
" Victim was admitted to PMCH after being unattended for hours in an ambulance on its premises ", sources said, adding that she died due to delay and alleged negligence in treatment at PMCH on Sunday last.
Opposition parties had raised much hue and cry over callousness of the Nitish government which led to death of rape victim. Leaders of Congress, RJD and
CPI(ML) and other opposition parties had criticised the government and demanded immediate resignation of Health Minister Mangal Pandey for callousness and negligence in treatment which led to death of rape victim.
