The Bihar government is continuously working for the upliftment and empowerment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. In this regard, a state-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Lakhendra Kumar Roshan, Minister of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the progress of departmental work, and strict instructions were given to expedite pending tasks. During the review meeting, the Minister stated that the department's priority should be to ensure that all government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries on time.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister stated that Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been socially and economically backward for centuries. To realize the dreams of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the government is implementing numerous schemes, including hostels, residential schools, scholarships, education, and employment. The department must be more proactive to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the lowest rung. He commended the excellent work done in some districts and urged that these good examples be replicated in other districts. At the same time, districts where work was delayed were warned and ordered to make progress as soon as possible.

List of community buildings and toilets in SC/ST settlements should be available

On this occasion, the SC/ST Minister directed the department to inspect the physical condition of community buildings and ensure their availability within 15 days. Furthermore, the SC/ST Minister directed the department to prepare a list of community buildings, community toilets, and landless families in these settlements as needed and provide it to the department. Priyanka Rani, the department's director, who was present at the meeting, gave special instructions to the deputy directors and district welfare officials from the districts. She urged them to pay special attention to the construction and renovation of Dr. Ambedkar hostels. These hostels provide safe housing and education to Scheduled Caste students, essential for their overall development. Furthermore, they were asked to focus on schools run by livelihood groups, school maintenance, and pre-examination training centers. Pre-examination training centers provide coaching and guidance to students preparing for competitive examinations, enabling them to succeed in government jobs.
