The campaign to digitally save all the land related documents has started. With this, the transparency of the documents will increase, as well as a campaign is going on to preserve all kinds of documents including all the old land records kept in the registration offices. To increase security, old registered records kept in the registry offices are being uploaded online. The work of digitization of documents will be completed by the end of July. According to the Department of Prohibition, Excise and Registration, in the first phase, more than 50 lakh documents existing between the years 1990 to 1995 will be digitized soon. Five agencies are working for this from April 2025. After this initiative, land information will be easily available online for the citizens. It is challenging to save these documents. Due to non-availability of documents on time, cases of land dispute are increasing continuously. With digitization, not only will they be kept safe, but they can also be easily found.

Download facility: Inspector General Registration

Excise Commissioner cum Inspector General Registration Rajneesh Kumar Singh said that with the digitization of documents and records of registered land, people will be able to view and download it sitting at home. This facility will especially provide relief to senior citizens. For this, the department is working on a war footing.

Documents are being uploaded in three phases

There are three processes to digitize land related documents. In the first process, the documents are scanned, then their information is uploaded. Finally, it is made public for the citizens. This will make it easier to find land records, saving time and resources of both citizens and registry employees. Along with this, disputes will be resolved and the possibility of tampering with records will be reduced. This will curb land mafias
