Bihar Leads Nation in Digital Health Services with Ayushman Bharat’s ‘Scan and Share’

The Health Department of the Government of Bihar has achieved a historic achievement in the field of digital health services. Bihar ranks first in the whole country in OPD registration through Ayushman Bharat Health Account (Abha) based Scan and Share service. So far, more than 2 crore tokens have been created in the state through Ayushman Bharat Health Account (Abha) based Scan and Share service. Also, the state has achieved fourth place in the country by creating digital health records/Electronic Health Records (EHR) of more than 3 crore beneficiaries.

This initiative of the Bihar government reflects the resolve to make digital health services available to every citizen. More than 2 crore patients have benefited from this facility so far, bringing transparency, accessibility and speed in health services.

The Abha based QR code scan and share facility has made the process of OPD registration fast, simple and transparent for patients. Now patients do not need to stand in long queues to get OPD prescription. Patients can get a token number by simply scanning the QR code displayed at the gate or OPD area. The registration process is completed easily through this token number.

The aim of Abha Yojana is to further improve health services by connecting patients with digital technology. With the help of this service, patients can view their health records on the mobile app, which has eliminated the need to carry documents again and again. This facility is beneficial not only for patients but also for doctors. Doctors can now review the patient's health records and provide better and accurate treatment.
