Bihar Road Construction Secretary Reviews Progress of Projects Announced During Pragati Yatra

Pankaj Kumar Pal directs officials to ensure time-bound, high-quality completion of 131 road and bridge projects and reviews preparations for the Chief Minister’s upcoming Samriddhi Yatra.

A detailed review of various schemes of the Road Construction Department announced during the Pragati Yatra was conducted today in the departmental conference hall by Shri Pankaj Kumar Pal, Secretary, Road Construction Department. He also reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Samriddhi Yatra of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and issued necessary directions. Senior officials, engineers, and other concerned personnel were present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the Secretary held in-depth discussions on the updated progress, quality, timelines, and challenges of various departmental projects. He directed officials to accord high priority to all schemes announced during the Pragati Yatra and ensure their completion in a time-bound manner while maintaining quality standards.

Major projects announced during the Pragati Yatra include:

Extension of the JP Ganga Path westward up to Veer Kunwar Singh Setu

Widening of the AIIMS Golambar–Janipur–Painapur–Neva road

Connectivity from Didarganj to Mokama Rajendra Setu

Construction of a 4-lane road from Danapur Cantonment via Maner to Bihta

Construction of an ROB at Subhash Chowk in Forbesganj town

Parora Bypass connecting NH-107 to NH-60 in Purnia

Connectivity of Janshwar Mishra Bridge on the Ganga from NH-922 in Buxar

Construction of a ring road in Dev Nagar Panchayat, Aurangabad

Construction of a greenfield road from Pachna (Lakhisarai border) to Sarmera in Nalanda district

Development of the Shobhna Bypass in Darbhanga into a 4-lane road

Construction of a ring road in Madhubani city and a road from Kanakpur to Jagatpur, to be connected with the Pandaul Bypass

Construction of the Mirganj Market Bypass in Gopalganj

Construction of the Mohania Bypass

A total of 131 projects announced during the Pragati Yatra are being executed by the Road Construction Department, Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL), and Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited (BRPNNL). The road construction work from the Municipal Corporation Office to Shastri Chowk via Jubilee Well, Kalitazia, and JP Path Chowk in Munger has been completed.

Reports related to land acquisition issues were sought to address hurdles in project implementation. The Secretary made it clear that no laxity or delay would be tolerated and emphasized ensuring coordination to promptly remove all obstacles.

The Secretary stated that all preparatory work for proposed roads, bridges, and other infrastructure projects related to the upcoming Samriddhi Yatra must be completed in advance to ensure smooth traffic movement and maximum convenience for the public during the tour. All concerned engineers and officers were directed to immediately prepare action plans related to foundation stone laying and inaugurations and to ensure regular monitoring. Officials were also instructed to conduct regular site visits and strengthen coordination with the district administration.
