Bihar Sports Department Seeks Grassroots Feedback to Activate Panchayat-Level Sports Infrastructure
The Bihar Sports Department has directed all district sports offices to hold meetings with elected sports club members at Gram and Nagar Panchayat levels, aiming to revive local sports infrastructure, strengthen talent identification, and frame data-driven sports development plans based on feedback to be submitted by January 31, 2026.
The Sports Department has directed all district sports offices in the state to organize meetings with elected sports club members to activate the sports infrastructure available at the Gram Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat levels. Through these meetings, suggestions and feedback are being received regarding the conduct of sports activities, the use of infrastructure, and the development of players at the local level.
The department has also directed all districts to compile the feedback received from these meetings and submit it to the department by January 31, 2026, so that sports plans can be implemented more effectively based on the suggestions received.
So far, feedback has been received from the following districts regarding sports club meetings:
Darbhanga District: A district-level sports club meeting was held at Nehru Stadium, Laheriasarai. Information was provided regarding the formation of sports clubs at the Panchayat level, the construction of playgrounds, and indoor-outdoor stadiums at the block level. Additionally, the selection of players from the Panchayat level and providing them with opportunities at the national and international levels was discussed. Suggestions were received from the secretaries, presidents, and treasurers of sports clubs.
Araria District: A meeting was held with the presidents, secretaries, and treasurers of sports clubs in Raniganj block regarding sports club operations.
Banka District: A meeting was held with selected members of all Panchayat Sports Clubs in Barahat and Belhar blocks to gather suggestions on club operations.
Madhubani District: A meeting was held with selected members of all Panchayat Sports Clubs in Rahika block regarding sports club operations.

The Sports Department will analyze the feedback received and develop a further action plan to strengthen sports activities at the Panchayat and Nagar Panchayat levels, hone the talent of athletes, and maximize the use of sports infrastructure.
