Bihar Suspends Two Engineers for Financial Irregularities in Rural Roads Project
Chief Engineer and Assistant Engineer accused of approving payments for unauthorized construction and falsifying project records;

The Rural Works Department has suspended two Taden Engineers of Madhaura Work Division of Saran district with immediate effect on serious charges of negligence and financial irregularities. This action of suspension was taken after a departmental inquiry, in which the allegations of arbitrary payment, construction of roads without approval and violation of schemes were found to be proven against the engineers.
The suspended engineers include Keshav Sahni, the then Executive Engineer, Works Division Madhaura, currently Chief Engineer, Maintenance and Upgradation Rural Works Department and Parmeshwar Mehra, Taden Junior Engineer, Works Division Madhaura, currently Assistant Engineer, Works Division Sonpur, Rural Works Department. Both are accused of proposing payment by showing work more than the approved length in the approved road construction work under the Chief Minister Gram Sampark Yojana.
Both are also accused of showing 0.25 km of road constructed earlier under another scheme of the Panchayat in the scheme without any concrete proof and approving payment for that too. Not only this, they started the road construction work without departmental approval and also proposed payment, which was not related to any settlement.
The investigation made it clear that both the engineers had committed negligence and serious financial irregularities, which caused financial loss to the state. Both the officers have been suspended with immediate effect till further orders. Along with this, action is also being taken against other officers involved in this.
