Chandigarh on Wednesday recorded the first casualty due to COVID in the latest wave of infectious disease.
Official sources said that Rajkumar (40) who originally hailed from Firozabad of Uttar Pradesh and was currently working in Ludhiana, was recently referred to Sector 32 hospital in Chandigarh, where he passed away this morning.
The coronavirus, surfaced in the last months of 2019, had created havoc in 2020 and 2021. It claimed lakhs of lives across the world, including India, and changed the way people looked at life forever.
It resurfaced a few days back and many cases have been reported since then from across the country.
