Patna: The Bihar State Religious Trusts Board has appointed senior advocate Chhaya Mishra, Vice President of the Advocates Association, Patna High Court, as its counsel to represent the Board in legal proceedings before the High Court. The appointment was confirmed by Dr Ranbir Nandan, Chairman of the Board, who said Mishra’s experience and courtroom standing would strengthen the Board’s legal representation.

The Board oversees more than 4,000 registered temples across Bihar and is frequently involved in litigation related to administration, property, and management of religious institutions. Mishra’s induction is seen as a move to ensure more effective legal handling of these matters.

Mrs Mishra brings with her a rich background in public law practice. She was earlier appointed as Central Government Counsel in Patna, where she represented key institutions including the Ministry of Railways and the National Investigation Agency before the Patna High Court. She has also served as counsel for nationalised banks, handling complex financial and regulatory cases.

Her appointment to the Bihar State Religious Trusts Board adds another significant responsibility to her professional profile, reflecting her standing in the legal fraternity and her long association with important government and public institutions.
