Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Announces Ambitious Plantation Drive in Rajasthan

50 Crore Trees to Be Planted in Next Five Years Under 'Hariyalo Rajasthan Abhiyan'

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said on Wednesday that 50 crore trees will be planted in Rajasthan in the next five years. Along with this, Sharma said that the state government is fulfilling every promise made in the BJP's 'Sankalp Patra'.

The announcement was made by CM Sharma when he was addressing the 75th state-level Van Mahotsav at Gadota in Dudu on the occasion of Hariyali Teej on Wednesday.

He said that inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's environmental protection, the state government has pledged to plant seven crore saplings by starting the Chief Minister's Plantation Maha Abhiyan this year. The government is making every possible effort to make this campaign successful. The Chief Minister said that under this campaign, 50 crore saplings will be planted in the next five years and their protection and care will also be ensured to make the planted saplings trees.

He said that technical assistance is also being provided to various departments, non-governmental organizations, gram panchayats, urban bodies and the general public of the state by providing saplings so that tree plantation can gain momentum. The Chief Minister said, 'Environmental protection has been an important part of Indian culture. Today, on the occasion of Hariyali Teej, the state government is planting more than one crore trees across the state in a single day. Geo-tagging of these plants will also be done for their conservation and promotion. We all should play an active role in this initiative, so that 'Hariyalo Rajasthan' can be created.'

He said that the state government is continuously working to provide relief to all sections including farmers, poor, women and youth and the government is fulfilling every promise made in its 'Sankalp Patra'. Chief Minister Sharma started the 'Hariyalo Rajasthan Abhiyan' by planting a Peepal tree with proper chanting of mantras.

He also geo-tagged the plant through a mobile application. He also inspected the technique of sowing seeds through drones and also sowing seeds on the campus by flying the drone himself. The Chief Minister gave awards in various categories for excellent work in the field of forest development and wildlife conservation under the Amrita Devi Vishnoi Smriti Award at the festival.
