CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Mango Festival 2025 with 800 Producers Participating
Two-day event at Gyan Bhawan showcases 5,000 exhibits from across Bihar districts;

Patna 28 June 2025 Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the Mango Festival, 2025 by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp at Gyan Bhawan located at Samrat Ashok Convention Center.
After the inauguration, the Chief Minister closely observed the various varieties of mango planted by mango producers from different districts of the state on the occasion of Mango Festival and expressed happiness. During this, the Chief Minister took information from the producers about the production and specialty of different varieties of mangoes.
In the program, Deputy Chief Minister cum Agriculture Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a symbol and Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Shri Pankaj Kumar presented a mango plant.
It is known that a grand event of Mango Festival-2025 is being organized in Gyan Bhawan on 28-29 June. About 800 mango producers from all the districts of the state have participated in the exhibition with 5 thousand exhibits. Various competitions including 'Eat mango and get reward' are being organized in this two-day program. Farmers and children can participate in the competitions to be held. The winning participant will be awarded a cash prize and a citation.
The main attraction of this Mango Festival is the display of various varieties of mango. The variety of mangoes present in Bihar can also be seen in this festival. In the exhibition held here, mangoes found in Bihar like Maldah, Zardalu, Gulabkhas, Zarda Bombay, Langra, Dussehri, Krishnabhog, Alphonso, Husn-e-Ara, Benazir, Fazli, Sepia etc. can be seen. The Agriculture Department has been organizing the Mango Festival for the last several years with the aim of promoting mango production and conservation. The theme of this year's event is 'Renovation of old orchards, gift to future generations'. This unique effort of the state government will not only encourage mango producers, but will also promote innovation and progress in the horticulture sector of the state. Mango is produced on a large scale in Bihar. Mango is produced in about 1.65 lakh hectares. With the implementation of the Agriculture Road Map, there has been an increase of about 82 percent in production as compared to the year 2007-08. The government is running the Mango Development Scheme for quality production of mango in the state. In the year 2018, Jardalu mango of Bhagalpur has been given GI tag. Organizing Mango Festival provides a platform to all mango producers, traders, processing scientists, exporters. Farmers are being trained on every aspect of mango development by the agricultural universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Center of Excellence for Mango, Vaishali located in the state.

Gopal Singh, Director Horticulture Mr. Abhishek Kumar and other senior officers and dignitaries were present in the program.
