CM Nitish Kumar Lays Foundation for ₹1,002 Crore Urban Development Projects
1,327 schemes across 38 districts include road-cum-drain construction, parks, and street lights under comprehensive program;

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today laid the foundation stone of 1327 schemes at a cost of Rs 1002 crore under the Chief Minister's Samagra Urban Development Scheme implemented by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited through remote. On this occasion, during the program organized at the Integrated Command and Control Center located at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the integration and automation scheme of drainage pumping station under Patna Smart City Project by pressing the button. With the start of this integration scheme, the drainage pumping stations built for drainage within Patna city can be monitored from the control room.
During the program, a short film prepared by the Urban Development and Housing Department was screened in front of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister released the brochure of the Chief Minister's Samagra Urban Development Scheme based on development schemes.
In the program, Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, Shri Abhay Kumar Singh welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a bouquet of flowers. During the program, Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, Shri Abhay Kumar Singh and Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation, Shri Animesh Parashar gave detailed information about the schemes to the Chief Minister.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister's Samagra Urban Development Scheme has been implemented in July 2024 by the Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Bihar to accelerate development in urban areas. Under this, schemes like development of infrastructure in urban areas of the state such as drainage system, construction and renovation of roads, construction of parks, construction and beautification of ponds / ghats are included. A district level steering committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the minister in charge of the concerned district to determine the priority of the schemes. BUDCO has been made the working agency for the implementation of the selected schemes. In the year 2024-25, a total amount of Rs 400 crore has been allocated to all the districts on the basis of population of urban bodies. A total of 1 thousand 327 schemes have been selected in all the 38 districts of the state, whose estimated amount is about Rs 1002 crore. Under this, till now administrative approval has been given to a total of 624 schemes for North Bihar, which includes 211 for road construction, 97 for drain construction, 215 for road-cum-drain construction, 8 for park construction, 56 for street light
and 37 other schemes. Similarly, administrative approval has been given to a total of 703 schemes for South Bihar, which includes 199 for road construction, 84 for drain construction, 317 for road-cum-drain construction, 10 for park construction, 26 for street light and 67 other schemes.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr. Jivesh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Amritlal Meena, Development Commissioner Mr. Pratyay Amrit, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Ravi, Patna Divisional Commissioner Mr. Mayank Barbade, District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Avkash Kumar along with other senior officers and employees of the Urban Development Department were present, while the Ministers-in-charge and District Magistrates of various districts were connected through video conferencing.
