National Conference President Farooq Abdullah said, 'It is a matter of great happiness that both of us (Congress and National Conference) are fighting against those forces who are trying to divide the people here. INDIA block was formed so that we can fight those forces who want to create communal division. Today it is a matter of happiness that we have completed the discussion and in coordination, the National Conference and Congress will contest the elections together.'
In Srinagar, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said on BJP raising questions about the alliance between National Conference and Congress, 'What moral right does BJP have to say this? BJP has had an alliance with the National Conference and with PDP.'
Venugopal said, 'National Conference is the same old National Conference, PDP is still the same old PDP, they had an alliance with both the parties. Every political party has its program, its manifesto and its promises. We have our manifesto and promises, that when we form the government, there will be a common minimum program.'
