Contemporary Art Exhibition Opens at Patna Passport Seva Kendra
Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ Regional Passport Office, Patna, Announces Contemporary Art Exhibition at Passport Seva Kendra
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ (ICCR) Regional Passport Office, Patna, under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), has announced the second series of its art display at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Patna. The exhibition, titled “Whispers of Imagination: Showcasing Diverse Voices in Contemporary Art”, will feature paintings by 15 accomplished artists from Bihar. This initiative follows a four-week exhibition of folk paintings of Bihar, previously titled “Saha-Loka”.
The exhibition is scheduled to be inaugurated on 25 August 2025 at 5 PM at PSK, Patliputra, Patna, and will remain on display until 25 September 2025.
“Approximately 1,500 applicants visit the PSK every day. This exhibition offers them a unique opportunity to experience art, which is usually confined to galleries, within a government office delivering passport services. It is a modest endeavour to bring artwork from vitrines and classrooms into public spaces, thereby fostering interest and appreciation for art among the people of Bihar,” said Smt. Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer and a senior Indian Foreign Service Officer.
While the exhibition primarily caters to passport applicants, visits by special request can be arranged by contacting Exhibition Coordinator Sh. Manish at 8709417080 or via email at rpo.patna@mea.gov.in at least one day in advance.
“Whispers of Imagination” brings together a wide range of perspectives, media, and themes, reflecting the richness of contemporary artistic practice. From painting to sculpture, the exhibition explores questions of identity, memory, and human connection in a rapidly changing world. Each participating artist contributes a unique vision, yet together their works form a vibrant dialogue that encourages audiences to reflect, engage, and imagine new possibilities.
By presenting diverse artistic practices side by side, the exhibition aims to spark conversation and deepen appreciation for contemporary art that resonates with our lives in numerous ways.
