The Directorate of Land Records and Survey (DLRS) has terminated the contracts of special survey employees who continued their strike despite repeated appeals. A total of 3,295 employees returned to work by the final deadline of 5 PM on 3rd September 2025, while the remaining positions have been declared vacant, with recruitment processes set to start by the end of this month.

The Directorate of Land Records and Survey (DLRS) had earlier issued a public notice urging special survey contract employees participating in dharnas and strikes to resume their duties. The appeal was disseminated via newspapers, the department’s official social media channels, and the Directorate’s website.

The initial deadline for returning to duty was 5 PM on 30th August 2025, followed by a final opportunity extended to 5 PM on 3rd September 2025.

According to official data, 3,295 contract employees complied and returned to work, resuming their responsibilities promptly.

The contracts of all remaining employees who did not report back have now been terminated by the Directorate, with official orders already issued. In addition, all vacated posts have been declared open, and the DLRS has initiated the recruitment process to fill these positions. Advertisements for the vacant posts are expected to be published by the end of September, with all required formalities being completed to ensure smooth hiring.

Officials emphasized that this decision is aimed at ensuring service continuity and operational efficiency, underlining the Directorate’s commitment to uninterrupted public service.
