FASTag Annual Pass Crosses 5 Lakh Sales Mark Within Four Days of Launch

The FASTag Annual Pass, which was launched on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15, is receiving tremendous response from the users. Within four days of launch, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has sold more than five lakh annual passes. FASTag Annual Pass is getting a good response from the first day itself, by 7 pm on August 15, about 1.4 lakh people had booked or activated the annual pass.

The National Highway Authority (NHAI) says that FASTag has set another milestone towards increasing technology driven mobility in India without any hassle. Within 4 days of launch, more than 5 lakh users have joined the FASTag Annual Pass. This initiative is providing fast, convenient and better tolling experience to the passengers. More and more users are making their journey smooth and better by using this pass.

NHAI said in its post shared on social networking site 'X' that, with more than 15 lakh downloads, NHAI's Highway Yatra app has become the top ranked government app. Highway Yatra mobile app has reached 23rd position in overall ranking and second position in travel category on Google Play Store. This app with 4.5 star rating has achieved this feat within 4 days of the launch of Fastag Annual Pass.

Let us tell you that, on August 15, the central government has launched Fastag Annual Pass to facilitate travel on selected National Expressways (NE) and National Highways (NH) of the country. Users can buy this pass for only Rs 3,000 and through this they can travel without paying toll for the entire 1 year or up to 200 trips (whichever comes first).

However, this will be applicable only on those expressways and highways which are operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Users can buy the Fastag annual pass through NHAI's official website and Highway Yatra mobile app. For this, users do not need to buy a separate Fastag, it will be activated on the existing Fastag.

However, for this it is mandatory for your Fastag to be registered with the vehicle's Vehicle Registration Number (VRN). This annual pass will be applicable only on private vehicles like car, jeep or van category vehicles. It does not include commercial vehicles like taxi, cab, bus or truck etc.
