BJP’s founding leader Ramen Deka was two times MP from Assam
Former Lok Sabha MP Ramen Deka took the oath of office as the tenth Governor of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Ramesh Sinha administered the oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhawan of the state.
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai along with his cabinet colleagues were present at the oath-taking ceremony. In the beginning, Governor Ramen Deka was given a guard of honor. Chief Minister of the state Vishnudev Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, and Chief Justice of High Court Bilaspur Justice Ramesh Sinha greeted the Governor by presenting a bouquet and wished him.
Ramen Deka was a founding leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Assam. He was born on 1 March 1954. He served as the National Secretary of the BJP. He has been active in politics since 1980.
Ramen Deka was elected to the Lok Sabha twice on BJP ticket. In 2009, he became MP for the first time from the Mangaldoi seat of Assam. Later, he was reelected in 2014.
Ramen Deka was also a member of the panel of Speakers in the Lok Sabha. He was also a member of the Central Advisory Committee of the Prime Minister's Adarsh Gram Yojana. He was also a member of the Ministry of External Affairs. In 2006, Raman Deka became the President of Assam BJP. Not only this, he has also handled many big responsibilities at the national level.
