Heavy overnight rain from Wednesday caused massive traffic jams across Delhi and NCR cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, with disruptions continuing into Thursday as scattered showers persisted.

Commuters and office-goers faced a tough time navigating waterlogged roads, pothole-filled stretches, and long traffic snarls. In several areas, roads became nearly impassable.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an 'orange' alert for Delhi and Gurugram on Thursday, warning of more rainfall.

Key traffic choke points included:

* **ITO to Old Rohtak Road, NH-8, and Madhuban Chowk** saw hours-long jams after Wednesday night’s downpour.

* **Shadipur** experienced bumper-to-bumper traffic well into the afternoon, with some motorists reporting delays of up to an hour.

* **Traffic between Nangloi and Najafgarh** came to a standstill.

* **Rohtak Road** was severely affected in both directions between Nangloi and Mundka due to waterlogging, potholes, and ongoing road and sewer repairs, according to Delhi Traffic Police.

* **Near Dhaula Kuan, Rajokri, and Mahipalpur**, vehicles crawled for kilometres.

* At the **Zakhira Railway Underpass on Road No. 40**, heavy waterlogging forced traffic diversions.

Authorities have urged commuters to check traffic updates and avoid waterlogged routes wherever possible.
