IEI Delhi Marks 58th Engineers’ Day with Focus on Deep Tech

Tributes paid to Sir M Visvesvaraya; Eminent Engineers Awards 2025 conferred on achievers from NITI Aayog, DMRC, and CPWD

The Institution of Engineers (India) Delhi State Centre celebrated 58th Engineers’ Day at Engineers Bhawan 2, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg ITO Delhi. The theme for Engineers Day Celebration was “Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade”.

Er. Sat Pal Singh Chairman Delhi State Centre has welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Ashwani Lohani, Director, Prime Ministers Museum and Library, Past President/IEI Shri O P Goel, Past Chairmen Shri R K Bagordia, Sh. Pradeep Chaturvedi, Dr G S Yadava, Shri Devendra Gill and the engineering fraternity present at House full Auditorium of IEI to grace the occasion and addressed the gathering. The function started with rich tributes paid to Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya by offering flowers petals by the Chief Guest and all the dignitaries.

Er. Sat Pal Singh, Chairman, IEI-DSC briefed the audience about the achievements and contributions of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya during his lifetime. Mr Singh stated that IEI, with its rich legacy of advancing engineering research and innovation, has long been a catalyst in this transformation. Through its R&D Grant-in-Aid Scheme, IEI has supported breakthrough ideas even at the undergraduate level, enabling young engineers to experiment, innovate, and create impactful solutions. This commitment to engineering-led progress has earned IEI recognition as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. By fostering research, bridging academia with industry, and nurturing talent, IEI has positioned itself as a key enabler of India’s deep tech journey.

On this occasion, Sh Ashwani Lohani has shared his experience and given message to focus on the ways and means to achieve the results. Find the solutions through analysis of problems causing bottleneck. Eminent Engineers Awards 2025 were conferred on Eminent Engineers Dr. Neelam Patel, Senior Adviser (Agriculture Technology Division), NITI Aayog; Shri Rajiv Dhankher, Director (Projects & Planning)/ DMRC and Shri D S Sachdev, Former Director General, Central Public Works Department, The Eminent Engineers Awardees have also addressed the audience.
