A Mumbai-bound IndiGo flight was delayed by four hours on Monday after one of its tyres went flat while parked at Jabalpur’s Dumna Airport.

The flight had landed from Mumbai around noon and was scheduled to take off again at 12:40 pm. However, while the aircraft was stationed on the apron, a rear tyre deflated, causing the delay, airport director Rajeev Ratan Pandey told PTI.

Fortunately, all passengers from the arriving flight had already disembarked safely before the tyre issue occurred.

To manage the disruption, most passengers from the affected flight were rerouted to Mumbai via connecting flights from Bengaluru and Delhi, officials said.

The grounded aircraft eventually took off for Mumbai at 5:30 pm, once a replacement tyre was flown in from Delhi and installed.
