Lakhisarai hosts a grand tourism symposium and heritage walk, promoting its historical, cultural, and religious heritage through tourism.;

A three-day tourism symposium and heritage walk was inaugurated in Lakhisarai on May 2, 2025, at the Sangam Hotel's seminar hall. The event, jointly organized by the Lakhisarai district administration, tourism department, and Bihar Foundation, witnessed the participation of Buddhist monks, researchers, and students from across the country and abroad.

District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra lit the lamp and inaugurated the symposium, emphasizing the need to promote Lakhisarai's historical and cultural heritage globally. He stated that this initiative would strengthen Lakhisarai's position on the tourism map and create new opportunities for the region's cultural heritage.
The event saw participation from Buddhist monks and students from Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Bhutan, Tibet, and Bodh Gaya. Historian Ashok Kumar Singh delivered a lecture on the significance of Lakhisarai from the perspective of Vajrayana Buddhism, highlighting the region's historical importance as a center of Buddhist learning, meditation, and culture.
Other dignitaries present at the event included Deputy Development Commissioner Sumit Kumar, District Tourism Officer Shashi Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Vinod Prasad, and DRDA Director Neeraj Kumar.
The three-day symposium aims to promote Lakhisarai's historical, cultural, and religious heritage through tourism. The event will feature visits to archaeological sites and research-based presentations in the upcoming sessions.
