A 35-year-old Indian Navy technician murdered a 29-year-old woman at his residence in the LV Nagar area under Gajuwaka police station limits in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, dismembered her body, destroyed some parts, and stored others in his refrigerator — before walking into a police station and surrendering.

The deceased has been identified as Mounika, a resident of Visakhapatnam city. The accused, Ch Ravindra, a Navy technician originally from Rajam in Vizianagaram district, was married but had developed an extramarital relationship with Mounika. His wife had left for her hometown in Vizianagaram a few weeks prior to the incident, leaving him alone in the house.

On Sunday afternoon, Ravindra called Mounika to his residence. The two spent several hours together before an altercation broke out in the evening. In a fit of rage, Ravindra stabbed Mounika to death. He then dismembered her body, packed some parts in a bag, transported them to an isolated location, and destroyed them, while storing the remaining parts in his refrigerator.

Ravindra subsequently went to the police station and confessed to the crime. Officers recovered body parts from his residence, but the head remains missing. Authorities suspect it was disposed of at a separate location. A special team has been constituted to trace the missing remains and reconstruct the full sequence of events.
