Nitish Kumar Extends Vishwakarma Jayanti Greetings, Announces ₹802 Crore Aid for Workers
Over 16 lakh construction labourers to receive ₹5,000 each under Bihar welfare scheme; CM also launches Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana portal
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today greeted the nation on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and extended warm wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday.
Marking the twin occasions, the Chief Minister announced a major welfare initiative for construction workers under the Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. He said that a total of Rs 802.46 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of 16,04,929 construction workers across the state. Each worker will receive Rs 5,000 under the Annual Clothing Assistance Scheme.
Kumar stressed that this initiative aims to improve the lives of workers engaged in construction activities, enhancing their social and economic well-being. He said the labourers have played an invaluable role in the progress of Bihar, and the government will continue to work for their development.
The Chief Minister also launched the web portal of the Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana, aimed at bringing the most marginalised sections of society into the mainstream.
Describing it as a matter of satisfaction that Bihar is touching new dimensions of progress in various fields, Kumar emphasised that such growth would not have been possible without the contributions of workers.
