Patna High Court Advocates Celebrate 79th Independence Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony

Association President Shailendra Kumar Singh honors lawyer freedom fighters including Gandhi, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and Sardar Patel

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Advocates Association at the Patna High Court on Friday. The event brought together senior members of the legal fraternity to honour the nation’s freedom and remember the pivotal role lawyers played in the independence struggle.

Association President Shailendra Kumar Singh, who hoisted the Tricolour, paid tribute to the towering figures of the legal profession who spearheaded India’s fight for freedom. “Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Tej Bahadur Sapru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Brijkishore Prasad, and Ramawami Prasad were not just eminent lawyers, but leaders who guided the nation to liberty,” Singh said.

The ceremony also saw addresses from Association Vice Presidents Mrs. Chhaya Mishra and Sanjay Pandey, General Secretary Jaishankar Prasad Singh, and Joint Secretaries Ranvijay Singh, Ranjana Srivastava, and Dipak Kumar. Each speaker reflected on the legal profession’s enduring commitment to upholding justice, democracy, and constitutional values.

The gathering concluded with a renewed pledge to serve the nation with integrity, inspired by the sacrifices and dedication of those who came before.
