Advocates Association Members in High Court to Receive Rs 25,000 Ex-Gratia for Emergency Needs;

Patna: Advocates associated with the Advocates Association in Patna High Court will get an ex-gratia payment of Rs 25,000 within 24 hours of their emergency needs.
The executive committee of the association, at a meeting in the Association Hall, resolved to pay Rs one lakh in place of the current Rs 50,000 as compensation money.
Vice President of the Association, Mrs. Chhaya Mishra, said a Wi-Fi system would be installed in the Hall with a display board to facilitate advocates in learning the serial numbers of cases in different courts at the High Court here.
A delegation of the Association will shortly meet the Governor to seek his intervention in persuading the state government to introduce a comprehensive insurance scheme for advocates on the pattern of a similar scheme in the neighbouring state of Jharkhand.
The Association is the biggest association of advocates in Bihar, having over 4,500 members. Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, was its first president.
Mr. Shailendra Kumar Singh, president of the Association, was in the chair.
Mr. Jayshakhar Prasad Singh, general secretary; Mr. Sanjay Pandey; Mr. Shailendra Singh; Mr. Ranvijay Singh; Ms. Ranjana Srivastava; Rakesh Ranjan; Dipak Chauhan; Mr. Upendra Singh; and Kameshwar Singh, all senior colleagues, were present.
