₹158 Crore Project to Feature New Galleries, Modern Facilities, and Renovated Spaces; Completion Targeted for February 2025.;

A review meeting was convened at Patna Museum on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Bihar Museum Director General Mr. Anjani Kumar Singh regarding the progress of the upgradation and expansion work of Patna Museum. On this occasion, department officials and engineers including Building Construction Department Secretary Mr. Kumar Ravi were present.

During this, Director General Mr. Anjani Kumar Singh took detailed information about the work plan and directed to complete the construction work of the plan soon. He gave necessary guidelines for the timely and quality implementation of the plan.

After the meeting, the construction site was inspected by the Director General and Secretary. He visited the entire campus including Ganga Gallery, Patali Gallery, temporary exhibition and conservation laboratory and took detailed information about each and every thing related to Patna Museum and gave necessary guidelines.

The departmental secretary told that the building construction department is expanding the campus along with the renovation and conservation of the old buildings and galleries of Patna Museum. This will give a new shape to Patna Museum. He has directed that the research team should be skilled for the exhibition work and should also take references from good books. After the completion of the upgradation and expansion work of Patna Museum, it will be a center of attraction for tourists.

The Secretary directed to complete the work of Patna Museum by February, 2025. He said that ensure flawless installation work and proper finishing work in the museum. He also directed to plant sufficient number of saplings in the campus.

The work of expansion of Patna Museum and installation of exhibits in the newly constructed gallery at a cost of ₹ 158.00 crore is in the final stage. Under this project, 2 new exhibit galleries have been constructed, which have been named Ganga Gallery and Patali Gallery. Apart from this, auditorium, temporary exhibit gallery, store house equipped with modern technology have been constructed to keep artifacts. Along with this, work of renovation and renovating the exhibit galleries of old museum buildings is being done.
