In the 2026 Assembly elections, actor Vijay and director Seeman are entering the fray as leaders of separate fronts. In this context, director Cheran has stated that he feels Seeman and his brothers and sisters must enter the Assembly, and that there is no longer a need for those who pass on positions and power to the next generation.

As the 2026 Assembly election field heats up, a four-cornered contest has emerged between DMK, AIADMK, Naam Tamilar Katchi, and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Naam Tamilar Katchi’s Chief Coordinator Seeman is contesting from the Karaikudi constituency.

He has been continuously campaigning across Tamil Nadu in support of Naam Tamilar candidates. In this situation, actor-director Cheran has extended his support to Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Seeman.

2026 Assembly Election

In this regard, he posted on his X page: “I feel that he and his brothers and sisters must go to the Assembly… because their intention is to do good for the people, eradicate social evils, implement good development schemes, prevent corruption and ensure that people’s money is not looted, and instead provide suggestions to use it for beneficial projects. On all platforms, his voice is about future livelihood, and therefore they must be in the Assembly.”

“We have so far seen governments abandon constructive thinking, lure voters with freebies, and treat elections as investments where each candidate spends crores and plans how to recover it a hundredfold. There is a need for strong voices to question loot, negligence, substance abuse, and violence.”

“If that voice becomes Seeman’s voice and the voice of his brothers and sisters, they will act as guides to put both the government and officials on the right path. Therefore, in this election, identify those Naam Tamilar candidates who strongly present their views and fight assertively. Those voices are our voices. If they win and go inside, it is for our good.”

“Do not waste the energy of the youth. Those who rule generation after generation and pass on positions and authority to the next generation are no longer needed. It is the need of the hour that our children first reject dynastic politics and nurture youth who aspire to bring about a meaningful alternative politics. Let us think… shall we stand with folded hands as slaves? Or shall we show the right direction to our children and live as leaders ourselves?” he said.
