Patna Workshop Chalks Out Action Plan for KVKs to Address Farmers' Issues
Experts from KVKs in Bihar, Jharkhand discuss scientific strategies to boost agricultural productivity through outreach programs.
Experts in plant protection from Krishi Vigyan Kendras in Bihar and Jharkhand attended a two-day workshop hosted by the Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-IV, Patna. One of Krishi Vigyan Kendras' key responsibilities is conducting field research trials, therefore a thorough discussion of the action plan was held in order to address the real-world farming issues that farmers face.
By forming partnerships with farmers through Krishi Vigyan Kendras, agricultural issues will be permanently resolved, ensuring consistent agricultural output and the farmers' benefit from innovative approaches. Participants in this session included subject matter experts (plant protection) from 37 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, who went into great depth about the action plan for each district.
According to Dr. Anjani Kumar, Director of the Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute in Patna, Krishi Vigyan Kendras play a critical role in making agriculture profitable. They should employ a scientific approach in their districts to build farmer confidence and encourage them to pursue agriculture as a career. Prof. Raghuraman of Kashi Hindu University in Varanasi, Dr. Kuldeep Srivastava, Principal Scientist of the Indian Vegetable Research Institute in Varanasi, and Dr. Ranjit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Dumraon participated as experts in the two-day action plan workshop and provided valuable suggestions to help create an action plan that would benefit farmers.
The success of the action plan workshop was greatly attributed to the efforts of Drs. Monobullah, Amarendra Kumar, D.V. Singh, Pragya Bhadoria, and Tejaswani, as well as to the officers, staff, and project workers of Atari, Patna.
