PM Modi Congratulates Nitish Kumar on Taking Oath for Historic Tenth Term as Bihar Chief Minister
At the Gandhi Maidan swearing-in, Modi hailed Kumar’s governance record and welcomed new Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, expressing confidence that the strengthened NDA team will drive Bihar’s development forward.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on taking oath for a record tenth term, following the swearing-in ceremony of the new National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar. The event, held at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, also saw 18 cabinet ministers and two deputy chief ministers officially sworn in.
“Congratulations to Shri Nitish Kumar Ji on taking oath as Bihar’s Chief Minister. He is an experienced administrator with a proven track record of good governance for many years. My best wishes to him for his tenure ahead,” Modi tweeted, acknowledging Kumar’s enduring leadership.
Nitish Kumar’s political journey spans decades, beginning with his involvement in the 1974 JP Movement and multiple terms as union Minister. His return for a tenth term as Bihar CM marks him as one of India’s most seasoned political figures.
The Prime Minister also warmly welcomed the BJP leaders Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha as Deputy Chief Ministers. “Congratulations to Shri Samrat Chaudhary Ji and Shri Vijay Sinha Ji on becoming Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar. Both leaders have worked extensively at the grassroots level. Best wishes to them,” Modi said.
Chaudhary, former BJP Bihar state president and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, and Sinha, ex-Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, are expected to play pivotal roles in strengthening the new government.
Modi expressed optimism about the cabinet’s potential, describing it as “a wonderful team, with dedicated leaders who will take Bihar to new heights.” The newly formed cabinet, comprising experienced veterans and new faces from the five-party NDA alliance, signals a fresh chapter focused on accelerating development and governance in Bihar.
The NDA secured a landslide victory in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats, reaffirming the coalition’s dominance in the state’s political landscape. Modi’s presence at the oath-taking ceremony highlighted the central government’s strong support for Bihar’s leadership and future growth.
