PM Modi Inaugurates Rs 5,900 Crore Development Projects in Bihar's Siwan
28 projects spanning housing, urban development, railways launched as CM Nitish Kumar praises collaboration;

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar attended the inauguration and foundation stone laying program of 28 development projects related to housing, urban development, water power, electricity and railways worth more than Rs 5,900 crore by the Prime Minister at Jasoli Kharg in Pachrukhi block of Siwan district. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his address praised the work done by Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar for the development of Bihar. He said that India's achievements are being discussed abroad, Bihar also has a big contribution in this.
Addressing the public meeting, Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar said that it is a matter of great happiness that today the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has come to Siwan. On this occasion, I welcome and congratulate Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. I heartily congratulate the Honorable Governor of Bihar, Union Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and all the people present in the program. Today, 22 urban development projects, 6 road projects and one rail project are being inaugurated and foundation stones laid, the total cost of which is Rs 5,918 thousand crores. Two trains are being flagged off and export of one engine is being started. Overall, these 32 schemes are going to benefit Bihar a lot. For this, I bow down from my heart to the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and congratulate him.
The Chief Minister said that the NDA government formed on 24 November, 2005 had BJP along with JDU. We are developing Bihar together. The government that was in power before us did not do any work but nowadays it is doing all sorts of propaganda. What was the situation earlier, no one could go out of the house in the evening. The condition of the state was very bad during their time. Today, you all have come here in such large numbers to listen to the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Girls, boys, women and men have come in such large numbers, we congratulate all of them. In the previous government, no work was done for the development of women. He said that we gave 50 percent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal elections. Special attention was given to the field of education and health. Bridges were constructed on a large scale in the state. Under the Seven Nischay, work was done to connect toll plazas with concrete roads along with electricity to every house, water to every house and toilet to every house. Government jobs and employment were given to young men and women.
The Chief Minister said that during the Pragati Yatra, we visited all the places and saw the development works. After this, approval of five thousand crore rupees was given for 430 new schemes. Development work has been started in every district. Many development projects were approved in Siwan, Gopalganj and Saran districts. The central government is doing a lot of work under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that in the budget of July 2024, the central government has announced to give a large amount to Bihar as special economic assistance for roads, industry, health, tourism and flood control. After this, in the Union Budget of February 2025, financial assistance has been announced for the establishment of Makhana Board, airport, Western Kosi Canal for Bihar. Earlier, the responsibility of organizing 'Khelo India Youth Games' was given to 6 states but this time the central government gave this responsibility to Bihar, which is a matter of pride. The central government has decided to conduct caste census, for which we salute the Prime Minister. We express our gratitude to the Prime Minister for all these works and thank him. I congratulate the Honorable Governor. I express my gratitude to the Union Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and all the other people present. I congratulate all of you. The state government is doing development work, as well as the development work started by the central government for the states, Bihar will move ahead a lot, now no one will be left behind. You people should not forget this. We express our gratitude to the honourable Prime Minister and thank him very much.
