Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gaya on August 22 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 12,000 crore.

Speaking at a review meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Chaudhary said here that the Prime Minister will address a public meeting at the Magadh University campus. Choudhary personally inspected the venue and directed officials to ensure proper arrangements.

Taking a swipe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, Chaudhary said that some people add the word ‘Jan Nayak’ (people’s leader) before their names, and some

use ‘Gandhi’ after their names, but simply writing it does not make anyone a leader.

The party that imposed Emergency and jailed political workers has no right to talk about democracy, he said adding that the Gandhi family and Lalu family only looted Bihar, while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transformed the state.

Highlighting the achievements under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the Deputy CM said that Lalu Prasad Yadav did not provide even one lakh government jobs during his tenure, while Nitish Kumar gave 7.5 lakh jobs between 2005 and 2020.

From 2020 to 2025, 50 lakh government jobs and employment opportunities have been provided, and by 2025–30, one crore youth will be given jobs and employment, he claimed.

Chaudhary also reviewed preparations for the August 22 event with JD(U) senior leaders and other NDA allies.

He said that Bihar’s development work is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and CM Nitish Kumar.

He asked the NDA workers to ensure that the government’s achievements reach every household.

Pointing to progress in infrastructure, Chaudhary said Bihar had only 17 lakh electricity connections in 2005, which have now risen to 2.14 crore.

“Currently, 1.64 crore consumers are receiving zero electricity bills. The NDA government has pledged to provide free electricity to every household, with a plan to install solar panels at 100

per cent subsidy through joint efforts of the Centre and state government," he informed.

He said that the state’s basic needs roads, electricity, and water have undergone a complete transformation.

Now one can reach any part of Bihar from Patna within five hours, and the government’s target is to reduce this to four hours, he noted.

Chaudhary further said that under a grand Ram temple has been built in Ayodhya and now a magnificent temple of Goddess Sita is being constructed at Punauradham in Sitamarhi at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
