PM Modi Attending Sardha Panchashatamanotsava in Goa
Later in the afternoon, at around 3:15 pm, PM Modi will arrive in Canacona, South Goa, to attend the ‘Sardha Panchashatamanotsava’, marking the 550th anniversary of the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, the first Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math, which follows the Dvaita order established by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century.
At the Math, the Prime Minister will unveil a 77-foot bronze statue of Prabhu Shri Ram, a major highlight of the celebrations. He will also inaugurate the ‘Ramayana Theme Park Garden’, developed by the Math as part of the anniversary events.
In addition, the Prime Minister will release a special postal stamp and a commemorative coin to mark the historic occasion and address the gathering. The Math, headquartered in Partagali, a serene riverside town on the banks of the Kushavati, holds a significant place in Goa’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister’s visit, the government said, underscores a continued effort to honour India’s ancient spiritual institutions and promote cultural unity. It also highlights the enduring influence of Madhvacharya’s philosophy across regions and communities.
By participating in these landmark ceremonies in Karnataka and Goa, PM Modi is set to celebrate centuries of India’s devotional traditions, cultural continuity, and philosophical depth.
