In a firm address to the nation on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent an unambiguous message to Pakistan: India will not be bullied by nuclear threats, nor will it tolerate state-sponsored terrorism. His remarks came days after a ceasefire was brokered between the two countries, but the tone was anything but conciliatory.

“Operation Sindoor isn’t just a military name—it stands for India’s unwavering resolve to fight terrorism,” Modi said, referring to the recent cross-border operation launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. He said over 100 terrorists had been killed, including several high-value targets, and called the operation a major milestone in India’s counter-terror efforts.

The Prime Minister didn’t mince words when it came to Pakistan’s alleged role in supporting terror groups. “We will no longer draw a line between the terrorists and those who shelter them,” he declared, adding that any future talks with Islamabad would only happen if there’s visible action against terror infrastructure.

PM Modi made it clear “Peace cannot come at the cost of security,”. He said that India’s security forces remain on high alert, while the ceasefire has brought a temporary halt to hostilities, warning that India will respond swiftly and decisively to any further provocation.

PM Modi’s speech signals a hardening of India’s national security posture, sending a strong message to the global community that India will act decisively to protect its sovereignty and will not be cowed by nuclear threats or diplomatic pressure.
