Pratyay Amrit Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects, Orders Strict Action to Speed Up Works
Chief Secretary takes stock of North Koel, Mandai Weir and Tajpur–Bakhtiyarpur Ganga bridge projects, stresses accountability and timely completion
Chief Secretary of Bihar, Shri Pratyay Amrit, today held a weekly review meeting on the state's key infrastructure projects—the North Koel Reservoir Project, the Mandai Weir Project, and the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Greenfield Bridge under construction over the Ganga River. The meeting discussed the current status of the projects, obstacles faced, and future action plans in detail.
During the review of the North Koel Project, the Chief Secretary strictly instructed the District Magistrate of Gaya to ensure immediate punitive action against contractors who are negligent or slow in their work. He specified that, if necessary, the number of workers and excavators on site should be increased.
To expedite the progress of the Mandai Weir Project, the Chief Secretary directed the Water Resources Department to actively deploy its officials in the districts. The department informed that 30 junior engineers have been specifically deputed to Jehanabad. These engineers will go door-to-door to communicate with the tenants and assist them in the process of receiving compensation for land acquisition.
The Road Construction Department provided a detailed presentation on the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Greenfield Bridge under construction over the Ganga River. The department assured that construction work is progressing satisfactorily and will be completed within the stipulated timeframe. The Chief Secretary directed all concerned officials to conduct regular field visits to ensure prompt resolution of any technical or administrative issues on the ground.
Officials from the Water Resources Department, Road Construction Department, Planning and Development Department, Finance Department, and the concerned District Magistrates attended the meeting via video conferencing.
