Punjab shuts all schools, colleges and universities till September 7 amid floods

The Punjab government today ordered the closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, universities, and polytechnic institutes, until September 7, due to the prevailing flood situation caused by heavy rainfall.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced the decision, stating it was made on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff. He said the state government is working to mitigate the impact of the floods and ensure the welfare of its citizens.
The government also urged citizens to strictly adhere to the guidelines and instructions issued by the local administration and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
