Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda Critical After Bike Accident, On Ventilator in Mohali
Doctors report persistent oxygen deficiency and spinal injuries; fellow artists urge fans to pray for his recovery.
Popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda continues to battle for life at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, five days after a severe bike accident in Pinjore, Haryana.
The 35-year-old artist, known for his soulful tracks, remains on ventilator support under the close supervision of critical care and neurosurgery specialists.
A recent medical update reveals no significant improvement in Jawanda’s condition. Doctors report persistent oxygen deficiency in his body, leading to weakness in his limbs, alongside serious neurological concerns due to head and spinal injuries sustained in the crash.
The singer was rushed to the hospital on September 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest, with advanced life support initiated immediately.
Yesterday, several prominent figures, including Punjabi singers Kulwinder Billa, Ammy Virk, and Kanwar Grewal, visited the hospital to check on Jawanda’s health. Grewal made an emotional appeal, urging people of all faiths to pray for the singer’s recovery.
“We’re standing here at Fortis Hospital with heavy hearts. Rajvir’s treatment is ongoing, and while some aspects are stable, many challenges remain. Please, wherever you are tonight, offer your prayers,” Grewal said.
Medical updates over the past few days indicate a grim situation. On September 28, doctors noted no major progress, with Jawanda still reliant on a ventilator. A slight improvement was observed on September 29, but oxygen supply issues persisted.
By September 30, an MRI confirmed severe neck and back injuries, suggesting prolonged ventilator support may be necessary.
The Punjabi music community and fans remain hopeful, rallying for Jawanda’s recovery as he fights for his life.
