Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday said the people of Palamuru had shown immense faith by electing 12 MLAs from the region and giving him the opportunity to serve as the second Chief Minister of the state.

Speaking at a large public meeting in Makthal to mark two years of Congress rule, he said the previous TRS government enjoyed the support of Palamuru even when development was neglected. However, despite being in power for a decade, former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) could not allocate even ₹12 crore for basic works such as breaking the Sangam rock and left several key irrigation projects incomplete.

Revanth Reddy said the public government was now advancing work on the Palamuru projects, including the Narayanpet–Kodangal lift scheme, for which 96 per cent of land acquisition was completed by offering farmers Rs 20 lakh per acre.

“As a son of Palamuru, it is my responsibility to complete these projects and ensure irrigation for every farmer,” he said, adding that court cases stalled progress for one and a half years, but work will now resume.

Revanth Reddy said education has been given top priority under the Congress government. Young India Integrated Schools are being established in every constituency, and 14 such institutions are coming up in the district. An IIT is also proposed for Palamuru, which he said would transform the district into a model for the country.

He highlighted several schemes implemented in the last two years, including free RTC travel for women, 200 units of free power, ration benefits, farmer loan waivers, and financial investment of Rs 1.04 lakh crore into agriculture. The government has conducted a caste census, ensured SC classification and is working for women’s economic empowerment, he added.

He said the government is repaying Rs 8 lakh crore of debt left behind by the previous administration, while simultaneously pushing Telangana towards major economic expansion. He said the upcoming Telangana Rising Global Summit on December 8 and 9 will showcase the state's potential to the world. “Our goal is to make Telangana a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047,” he said.

Ahead of the upcoming panchayat polls, the CM urged people to elect candidates committed to development rather than division. “Choose sarpanches who will build your villages. It is my responsibility to provide funds and water. Together, we will make Palamuru a golden crop district in ten years,” he said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for development works worth Rs 151.92 crore in Atmakur (M) and Amarachinta municipalities in Makthal constituency, and Rs 118.82 crore worth projects within Makthal Municipality limits.

Ministers Vakiti Srihari, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Jupally Krishna Rao and others were present.
