Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, part of an all-party delegation led by JD(U)'s Sanjay Kumar Jha, strongly criticized Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism while addressing the Indian diaspora in Singapore. The visit is part of Operation Sindoor’s global outreach campaign, aimed at informing international partners about India’s counter-terrorism stance.

Speaking at the event, Banerjee questioned how anyone could deny Pakistan's terror links when even top military officials have been seen attending the funerals of designated terrorists.

“You have so much evidence in the public domain—high-ranking Pakistani military officers at the funerals of known terrorists. Where else does that happen? What more proof do you need?” Banerjee asked.

He urged members of the diaspora to share this information widely on social media, emphasizing its power in shaping public opinion. “Twitter threads travel faster than diplomatic cables. We need to step up our efforts there,” he added.

Banerjee also addressed concerns about how opposition parties view national security. He made it clear that, despite political disagreements with the central government, the country’s safety comes first.

“I may oppose the ruling party on many issues and fight them tooth and nail politically. But when it comes to national security, there are no differences. I will always prioritize my nation’s interest over political gain,” he said.

The delegation includes representatives from across the political spectrum: BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lala, Pradan Baruah, and Hemang Joshi; CPI(M) MP John Brittas; Congress leader Salman Khurshid; and former diplomat Mohan Kumar.

Their mission is to explain India’s position on terrorism, particularly in light of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.

Delegation leader Sanjay Kumar Jha echoed Banerjee’s sentiments, calling Pakistan a state whose entire system is based on terrorism.

“We’re united—every political party. We’re going out into the world to tell the truth about Pakistan and its army. Their entire model is built on terrorism: training, funding, and pushing militants across the border,” Jha said.

He elaborated on Operation Sindoor, which began on May 7 as a direct response to the Pahalgam attack. The operation involved targeted strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), specifically targeting groups like Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

"This was a surgical, overnight operation with clear rules—no harm to civilians, no hit on military infrastructure. We hit only terror bases,” Jha noted.

BJP MP Hemang Joshi shared that the delegation also met Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister, parliamentarians, and business leaders to reaffirm India's stance. “We told them India is a peace-loving country. But any terror attack will be treated as an act of war by Pakistan,” he said.

Echoing the delegation’s message, BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi added, “There’s no doubt anymore—Pakistan isn’t just linked to terrorism. It’s actively investing in it.”
