Aircraft's Emergency Landing Near Amda Hill in Patamda Averts Major Disaster; Previous Incident in Madhya Pradesh Raises Concerns
A training aircraft of Alchemist Aviation went missing shortly after takeoff from Sonari Airport in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on Tuesday afternoon, creating a stir. According to reports, apart from the pilot, there was a trainee on board the aircraft.
The airport management had started a search operation with the help of East Singhbhum and Saraikela district administration. Looking at the whole matter, the plane could crash, but it was found that it had made an emergency landing in Patamda.
An official associated with the aviation company said that about 15 minutes after takeoff, the plane had completely lost contact with the air traffic control. Its last location was recorded near Dimna Dam in Jamshedpur. Because of the possibility of an accident, the East Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan district administration was informed, however, the news came that the plane had fallen in the Amda hill forest area of Patamda police station. As soon as the news was received, the airport management, aviation company and forest department officials left for the spot.
According to the information received so far, at around 3 pm, the residents of Patamda informed the police that a small plane had crashed near Amda Hill. It is being told that the trainee pilot and instructor have survived the accident safely, although it has not been confirmed yet. Before this, on August 11, 2 pilots were injured when a training plane of a private aviation academy crashed on an airstrip in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh.
Gunna Cantt police station in-charge Dilip Rajoria had given information about this and said that there is a possibility that the 2-seater Cessna 152 aircraft crashed due to engine failure. It had flown for about 40 minutes before the accident. He had told that the 2 pilots on board the plane had been injured, but they are out of danger. The officer said this aircraft was brought to Guna a few days ago for investigation and maintenance.
