Turkish Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Kolkata Airport After Engine Alert

There was a commotion at Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport when an international Turkish Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing. Shortly after takeoff, the right engine of the plane, which was flying from Kathmandu to Istanbul, detected a technical fault, prompting the pilot to immediately issue an alert.

ATC Declares Full Emergency

Kolkata Air Traffic Control declared a full emergency after the pilot warned of a possible engine fire. As per safety protocols, the plane was forced to land at Kolkata Airport.

Safe Landing in the Afternoon

According to news agencies, the plane made a safe emergency landing at around 2:49 pm on Wednesday. A total of 236 passengers and crew members were on board. It is a matter of relief that all passengers are completely safe and no injuries have been reported.

Agencies Engaged in Technical Investigation

Immediately after landing, the plane was detained within the airport premises. According to the airport administration, a thorough technical investigation of the aircraft is currently underway to determine whether the engine actually caught fire or if it was merely a warning signal.
