The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested wanted sharpshooter Ravi Daurala — believed to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — after an encounter in Muzaffarnagar on Friday evening. The operation took place near the Baghwali outpost under the New Mandi police station limits. Police recovered a pistol, seven live cartridges, and a motorcycle from his possession.

Ravi, a resident of Bhagwanpuri in Daurala (Meerut), had multiple bounties on his head — ₹1 lakh in Muzaffarnagar for his involvement in a ₹11 lakh robbery and ₹25,000 in Delhi for allegedly shooting a man and looting ₹4.5 lakh.

According to Brijesh Kumar Singh, Additional SP (STF), Ravi served as a sharpshooter for Sunny Kakran, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. On Sunny’s orders, Ravi demanded ₹5 lakh in extortion from a Meerut-based cloth trader, Swadesh Vikal, on May 31, 2023. When the trader refused, Ravi reportedly opened fire at his shop, critically injuring Vikal’s son, Arun. That incident led to a ₹50,000 reward being placed on Ravi.

Ravi's criminal record is extensive. In 2015, he helped a robbery accused escape from police custody. More recently, on February 26, 2025, Ravi — along with Sunny and another accomplice, Arvind — shot a man in Delhi’s Keshavpuram and made off with ₹4.5 lakh. On April 18, he and Arvind allegedly robbed a husk contractor named Ujjwal of ₹11 lakh in Muzaffarnagar’s New Mandi area, which prompted the ₹1 lakh reward.

He is also wanted in several cases of robbery and extortion in Meerut’s Civil Lines and Muzaffarnagar’s Khatauli. In March, he was involved in a motorcycle robbery in Meerut’s Kankarkheda.

In total, police confirmed that 21 criminal cases have been registered against Ravi across Delhi, Meerut, and Muzaffarnagar.
