Six Passengers Killed in Helicopter Crash Near Ganganani, Uttarkashi; Relief Operations Underway;

A helicopter crashed near Ganganani in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Thursday, killing all six people on board, including the pilot. The crash site, located in a remote hilly area near the Indo-China border, is currently the focus of an intense rescue and relief operation.
District disaster management officer Shardul Singh initially reported that one person had been rescued, but said there’s still no clear update on the condition of the others. Emergency responders and administration teams were rushed to the scene soon after the incident.
Images from the site show the mangled remains of the helicopter, with debris scattered across the area.The chopper went down in difficult terrain, making access and rescue operations more challenging.
Garhwal divisional commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that rescue teams were immediately mobilized once news of the crash broke. Medical assistance and support teams are also on-site, working to secure the area and assess the damage.
The cause of the crash is still unknown and will be investigated after rescue operations are complete.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences and said that teams from the State Disaster Response Force and the district administration are at the site. “I’ve directed the administration to provide all possible help and to begin an immediate investigation into what caused the crash,” Dhami said.
