Women Celebrate Punjab Govt’s Monthly Aid Scheme with Jaago Processions Across the State
Lakhs of women welcome ₹1,000–₹1,500 financial assistance announced by CM Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, calling it a major step toward economic empowerment.
A wave of happiness has spread across Punjab after the historic announcement by the Punjab Government to provide financial assistance to the mothers, daughters, and sisters of the state. This announcement has brought smiles to the faces of lakhs of women across Punjab. In various cities, towns, and villages across the state, women expressed their joy on a large scale by taking out Jaago processions in accordance with the rich traditions of Punjabi culture. Women celebrated the decision enthusiastically by dancing to the beats of the dhol and singing traditional boliyan.
Women wholeheartedly thanked Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, saying that this scheme will prove to be extremely beneficial for them. Under this scheme, women from the general category will receive ₹1,000 per month, while women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive ₹1,500 per month. The amount will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiary women, ensuring complete transparency and guaranteeing that every woman receives the benefit directly without any intermediary. This will completely eliminate the possibility of corruption.
Women across Punjab said that this financial assistance will provide significant relief in their household expenses. Women from poor and middle-class families especially said that this amount will be very helpful in their day-to-day lives. Many women also said that it will boost their confidence and allow them to meet their small personal needs without depending on anyone else.
