BCCI Relocates IPL 2025 Final to Ahmedabad; Mullanpur to Host Qualifier 1 and Eliminator
Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to Host IPL 2025 Final on June 3; BCCI Confirms Playoff Venues;

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on June 3, as confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday. Along with the final, the stadium will also stage Qualifier 2 on Sunday, June 1.
The newly-constructed Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will host the first two playoff games of IPL 2025 — Qualifier 1 on May 29 and the Eliminator on May 30.
Initially, the final and Qualifier 2 were set to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, while Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was supposed to host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator. However, the venues were changed by the IPL Governing Council citing weather-related and logistical considerations.
The BCCI also announced an extension in match timing conditions. Beginning Tuesday, May 20, an additional hour has been allotted for all remaining league stage matches. This will kick off with the clash between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
As things stand, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Punjab Kings have secured their places in the playoffs. The race for the fourth and final spot is between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals.
If Mumbai Indians manage to beat Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede on Wednesday, they'll confirm their place in the top four. However, a win for Delhi will keep the race alive until the final round of league matches.
Featuring a face-off between Lucknow Super Giants and RCB at the Ekana Stadium, the last match of the league stage is scheduled for May 27.
Gujarat Titans currently top the IPL 2025 points table, with RCB and Punjab Kings sitting in second and third. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are vying for the fourth spot.
The remaining five teams — Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, SunRisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Chennai Super Kings — are out of the playoff race.
Venue Change: RCB vs SRH Shifted to Lucknow
In a late development, Match No. 65 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and SunRisers Hyderabad — originally set to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, May 23 — has been moved to the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow due to unfavorable weather conditions in Bengaluru.
RCB, led by Rajat Patidar, will now play their final two league matches in Lucknow.
