Hero Men’s Asia Cup 2025: India thrash Kazakhstan 15-0, three players score hat-tricks in Rajgir

Rajgir, September 1: The Indian Men’s Hockey Team signed off their Pool A campaign in style at the Hero Men’s Asia Cup Rajgir Bihar 2025, routing Kazakhstan 15-0 at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium. The hosts, who had already sealed a spot in the Super 4s, finished top of Pool A with nine points from three matches.

Abhishek (5’, 8’, 20’, 59’), Sukhjeet Singh (15’, 32’, 38’) and Jugraj Singh (24’, 31’, 47’) scored hat-tricks, while skipper Harmanpreet Singh (26’), Amit Rohidas (29’), Sanjay (54’) and Dilpreet Singh (55’) also found the net in the one-sided contest.

Early domination

India began aggressively and broke through in the 5th minute when Abhishek struck from the top of the circle. He doubled the lead just three minutes later, before setting up Sukhjeet Singh (15’) to make it 3-0 at the first-quarter hooter.

In the second quarter, Abhishek completed his hat-trick (20’) before Jugraj Singh (24’) and Harmanpreet Singh (26’) converted penalty corners. Rohidas (29’) added another to give India a 7-0 cushion at half-time.

Relentless attack

Jugraj Singh converted a penalty stroke (31’) at the start of the third quarter, followed by Rajinder Singh’s goal (32’). Sukhjeet Singh (32’, 38’) struck twice more to complete his treble, stretching the lead to 11-0 heading into the final break.

In the last quarter, Jugraj Singh (47’) converted another stroke to complete his hat-trick, before Sanjay (54’) and Dilpreet Singh (55’) joined the scoresheet. Abhishek capped off the rout with his fourth goal in the 59th minute.

Other results

In other Pool stage fixtures, Korea beat Bangladesh 5-1, Malaysia hammered Chinese Taipei 15-0, while China and Japan played out a 2-2 draw.
