India to Host First-Ever Pickleball Nationals 2025 in Bengaluru
Organised by the Karnataka Pickleball Association under the Indian Pickleball Association, the four-day event marks a milestone after official national recognition by the Sports Ministry.
In a landmark development for one of India's fastest-growing sports, the Karnataka Pickleball Association (KPA), under the aegis of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), announced the first-ever Indian Pickleball Nationals 2025, powered by Sabala.
The championship will be held from November 13 to 16 at The Sports School, Bengaluru, marking a major milestone in the sport’s national journey.
This edition will be the first Nationals to be held since pickleball received official National Sports Federation (NSF) recognition for the IPA from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Over 1,200 entries from more than 20 states have been received, spanning categories from Under-12 to 70-plus, in Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed formats.
KPA President Shree Harsha said, "The Nationals is a milestone event for the sport, and we are extremely fortunate to be hosting it in Bengaluru. Pickleball has grown tremendously across the globe, and the Government of India’s recognition has given it a new identity and direction. Through initiatives such as coaching clinics, business meets, and our ‘Mission One Million’ programme, we aim to take pickleball to schools across Karnataka."
Supporting the event, Bengaluru FC and India footballer Ashique Kuruniyan said, "It’s exciting to see pickleball coming to Bengaluru. It’s a fun and inclusive sport that can attract people of all ages and fitness levels."
Srinivas TR, Co-founder of The Sports School, said, "Pickleball has the potential to build strong sporting careers in the coming years. We believe in supporting every sport that fosters participation and a culture of excellence, and we’re delighted to host this event."
Also present were Gunaranjan Shetty, President of the Karnataka Wrestling Association, and representatives of the title partner, Sabala — a wellness and lifestyle brand committed to promoting active living, inclusivity, and holistic well-being.
The Indian Pickleball Nationals 2025 is expected to serve as a catalyst in expanding the sport’s reach and recognition across India, paving the way for a stronger professional ecosystem in the years ahead.
