India's U-20 Women's team won the bronze medal in the Asia Rugby Emirates U-20 Championship after a stellar performance. The hosts achieved this historic feat by defeating Uzbekistan in the third place match played at Rajgir, Bihar.

After a stellar performance in the pool stage, India faced China in the semi-finals, where despite a tough fight, the team lost 7-28. In the bronze medal match, India dominated from the start. Bhumika scored the first try to make the score 7-0, after which Guria Kumari increased the lead to 12-0. Uzbekistan tried to make a comeback with a try, but the Indian defense, inspired by the enthusiasm of the home crowd, ensured victory.

It is worth noting that India's only defeat in the entire tournament came against the teams that reached the finals - China and Hong Kong China - which is a testimony to the team's excellent performance. This is the first time India hosted this tournament and the first time the U-20 Women's team won a medal at home. Led by head coach Kiano Furi, the team displayed a great display of skill, patience and teamwork, with contributions from both experienced players and emerging talent.

Rugby India President Rahul Bose expressed his happiness over the achievement and said, "It is a proud moment for Indian rugby to win a medal in front of the home crowd. Our women's team was in a very tough pool and just reaching the semi-finals was a great achievement. The team showed amazing spirit, and this performance will inspire the next generation of players."

In the women's category, China won the title by defeating Hong Kong China 29-21 in the final. In the men's category, Hong Kong China defeated Sri Lanka 33-0 to win the championship.
