Sachin Tendulkar Confirms Son Arjun's Engagement, Says Family Is Excited for the New Chapter
On Monday, Sachin Tendulkar officially confirmed that his son, Arjun Tendulkar, is engaged.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has finally confirmed the news that had been making the rounds for weeks—his son, Arjun Tendulkar, is engaged. Rumours had been swirling since earlier this month about Arjun’s engagement to Saaniya Chandok, granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai. But until now, the Tendulkar family had remained tight-lipped, fueling speculation online.
Sachin broke the silence during a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session on Monday. When a fan asked, “Did Arjun really get engaged?”, the Master Blaster replied, “Yes, he did, and we are all very excited for the new phase in his life.”
According to India Today, the engagement was a private affair attended only by close family and friends. Saaniya comes from a well-known business family involved in the hospitality and food industries—they own Mumbai’s InterContinental Hotel and the popular ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. Professionally, she is a Director and Designated Partner at Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, a pet care business based in Mumbai.
Arjun, 25, is carving his own path in cricket. He plays domestic cricket for Goa and is part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the IPL. Though he didn’t get a game during the 2025 IPL season, he has made steady progress in the domestic circuit. In first-class cricket, Arjun has taken 37 wickets in 17 matches and scored over 500 runs, including a century on debut in the 2022 Ranji Trophy. In T20s, he has 27 wickets in 24 matches with a solid bowling average.
Sachin also spoke about parenting and the values he passed on to Arjun and his daughter Sara during the AMA. “I’ve always believed that you must chase your dreams because that’s how they become a reality,” he said. “I followed it and told the same to both my children. Like in cricket and in life, you have to trust the process, and results always follow the action.”
Sara Tendulkar recently launched her own Pilates studio in Mumbai, an event attended by the family—including Arjun’s fiancée, Saaniya. Sachin was there to support his daughter on her big day.
When asked who handles family travel plans, Sachin gave a light-hearted answer: “Anjali does it all—I just go with the flow.”
